ArtPOP! and Open Studios
ArtPOP! is Arts Alive SDSU’s second annual campus arts festival featuring the visual and performing arts of SDSU students, faculty, and staff. Events will take place between 10am – 3pm at the campus Farmer’s Market, along Campanile Walkway, inside Scripps Cottage, and on the Scripps Cottage lawn.
There will be special booths showcasing artists from across campus, including works from Jewelry & Metalworks, Ceramics, drawing and painting students. You can also look out for LIVE performances from the SDSU acapella groups, students from the Division of Dance. Scripps Cottage will showcase a variety of student films, and there will be TONS of interactive art making activities including a special SDSU Coloring Book station!
More information and updates can be found on ArtPOP!’s Facebook event page!
SDSU’s School of Art + Design is holding an event in partnership with SDSU’s Arts Alive called Open Studios. Open Studios will take place on May 3 from 4 – 7:30 pm. Our courtyard connects the two Art + design buildings. During Open Studios, it will be a hub of activity and a gathering spot with art demos, music, and art sales.
Open Studios is an annual school-wide open house for SDSU’s current and prospective students and their families, high school and community college students, local artists, community members, and SDSU faculty and staff. This lively event, which draws approximately 200+ people every year, includes art exhibitions and art demonstrations, studio, gallery, and classroom tours, and music and food. This year, Open Studios will take place on the same day as ArtPOP! SDSU’s all-day visual and performing arts festival. Combining ArtPOP! with Open Studios will make for a seamless campus-wide arts festival with attendees moving from one event to the other.
