This spring, SDSU presents cutting edge lectures on art, culture, and crime. The series brings experts on culture, crime, and creativity to campus to discuss their current projects. Topics range from meditated understanding of ISIS’s jihadi terrorism, to antagonistic artworks that challenge mainstream knowledge about selfhood and morality. These lectures allow participants to reflect on and discuss intellectually challenging ideas about art, culture, and crime.

Dr. Simon Cottee is a visiting senior fellow from the Freedom Project, Wellesley College. He is an expert on jihadi terrorism and will discuss his current research, which involves a widely distributed survey of responses to ISIS propaganda materials.
